In 1983, Inge's life changed dramatically when she was involved in a motor vehicle accident. She suffered a neck fracture that left her with a permanent disability. At the time of the accident, she was working as a licensed Practical Nurse. She was forced to give up her profession of 20 years. Inge focused her attention on her love for animals, particularly dogs.
In 2001, Inge opened Howl Naturale. Her goal was to make the best pet treats on the market, that are healthy, wholesome, natural, and affordable.
Our store is located in Chincoteague Island, the home of the world-famous Pony Swim, an annual event that happens every July. After developing canine and feline treats, the next focus was on healthy, all natural equine treats. We now offer two choices for horses and ponies: carrot and peppermint.
Since 2007, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (CBBT) and Howl Naturale have been working together to provide their canine travellers the best all-natural treats. These seagull-shaped treats represent the logo of CBBT. These delicious peanut butter seagulls are made from whole wheat flour, real peanut butter, and 2% milk. The response from the animal visitors has been overwhelming.
